We went to Polesdon Lacey on the weekend. Like Clandon House, a similar place in Surrey which we went to several months ago, this is a magnificent landscape with amazing gardens and a large house. The house is huge and a bit imposing from the outside. Inside, the house is beautifully decorated in the 1920's/1930's style. The owner (Mrs Grenville) at the time had loads of money which came mostly from her father who was a rich brewer and her husband had come from aristocracy and had been an MP.
